California Employers Association/ Medical Notification

A few weeks ago I said that employers were required to notify their employees about Medical. I just found out when California switched from Healthy Families to Medical July 2012 the requirement was lifted. I would guess that most of you probably had not notified your employees about this prior to July 2012 .

What I found out is that employers who did not notify their employees prior to July 2012 were subject to fines of $100 a day per employee. Pretty significant penalty and I would guess that less than 5% of the employers in California knew this.
