Yesterday Lori Kammerer Small Business California Government Affairs person and Lee Petillon Board Member and I were in Sacramento meeting with legislators on legislation Small Business California is sponsoring. In our visits we met with Aaron Moreno in Assemblyman Mike Gatto’s office and he told us about a bill Assemblyman Gatto is proposing AB 227. This is a reasonable measure protecting businesses from lawsuits for not displaying warning posters at their place of business. These lawsuits are costing businesses thousands of dollars to settle. It basically says that a business has 14 days to correct the violation.
Small Business California will be addressing this with our Board and expect to support. Please see legislation below. If you want a poster please let me know and I will send to you.
